Continuing on from the last part, I continued my animation.
As I had set out my three action poses I was able to get straight to animating with a clear mind on what was going to happen in it.
So that I would be able to get the movements for the model to appear more natural I acted them out as I animated. This helped give me an idea of how the teddy bear’s weight might be distributed, especially as the bear is trying to pull himself up.
I could have done a similar thing by filming myself doing the entire animation, this would have also given me something to follow time wise and would have meant I wouldn’t have been guessing and testing out different timings of the movements.
While there are those benefits, I get more into the animating and enjoy the process more if I don’t need to look away from the screen as much. Plus, I felt that if I was to follow a video I might get to tied up on making it match perfectly making it less like organic movement in the end.

As I’ve played with animation in the past I know that I enjoy the process as tedious as some people believe it to be. Therefore, I think I enjoyed the animating part the most. It’s really satisfying to see a model that I’ve worked on and built from scratch moving around an environment, in what I would say is a realistic way, if I do toot my own horn.
As I’ve managed to complete the character animation, I want to move onto building a room for the it to be contained in, that is my plan for next time.
